Construction Begins on Waiting Lounge at Kabul’s Chahar Asiab Hospital

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has announced the commencement of construction of a waiting lounge at Kabul’s Chahar Asiab Hospital to provide patients and their companions with a more suitable space.

According to the agency, this lounge is part of six waiting lounges being built to support the delivery of quality health services.

The United Nations emphasized that no mother should have to wait outdoors in heat or cold alongside her sick child, and that creating these lounges can improve the waiting conditions for patients and their families.

The new lounges will provide a safer and more dignified environment for patients, companions, and other hospital visitors, the organization stated.

UN-Habitat added that this project is being implemented with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and aims to strengthen health infrastructure and facilitate residents’ access to better medical services.
