Water Supply Project Begins for Over 1,000 Families in Sar-e Pul

The Taliban administration has announced the commencement of a water supply network construction project in the Afghan Muhajireen Town of Zakka, located in Sayyadabad district of Sar-e Pul province. According to the administration, this project is expected to provide over 1,000 families with access to safe drinking water.

The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the Taliban, in a press release, stated that the project is being implemented by the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Sar-e Pul at a cost of 5.8 million Afghanis.

According to the information provided, as part of this plan, a 120-meter deep well will be drilled, a reservoir with a capacity of 80 cubic meters will be constructed, and four public water taps will be installed. In addition, 28 solar panels and approximately 3.8 kilometers of piping will form part of the network.

The ministry added that during the implementation of the project, employment opportunities will be provided to some local residents. Access to safe drinking water is one of the basic needs of citizens, while in many rural areas of the country, a lack of essential infrastructure remains a serious challenge for people’s daily lives.
