WHO Warns of Health Risks Following Deadly Floods in Nuristan

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that although the water levels of the deadly floods in Nuristan province have receded, health risks remain significant, and residents must take safety measures seriously.
On Tuesday, July 21, the organization urged the public via its X page to adhere to safety guidelines to protect their health and immunity and to remain vigilant against the aftermath of the floods.
According to WHO, residents should identify potential hazards, clean and keep their homes dry, and avoid contact with stagnant water, as it may be a source of disease.
The organization also recommended that individuals experiencing psychological stress following the event seek mental health support services if necessary.
The recent floods in Nuristan have caused extensive casualties and damage, heightening concerns about disease outbreaks after natural disasters in this mountainous province.
