UN Urges Immediate Support for Returning Afghans Amid Growing Needs

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has stated that returning Afghans currently need urgent support and humanitarian aid more than ever before.

On Sunday, July 19, the agency expressed its gratitude on its X page for the support provided by Islamic Relief USA to border response programs in Afghanistan.

According to UNHCR, this support enables the delivery of life-saving services, protection for vulnerable individuals, emergency assistance, and other essential services for returnees.

The UN refugee agency emphasized that these aid efforts come as the surge of returning Afghans has increased humanitarian needs and intensified pressure on already limited resources.
