Young Educated Man Commits Suicide in Kunar Amid Economic Hardships

Local sources in Kunar province have confirmed that a young man in the Manori district of the province took his own life. According to these sources, the incident occurred around noon on Saturday, July 18. The young man, named Zahed, was reportedly educated up to the bachelor’s degree level. Sources say that unemployment and severe economic difficulties pressured him, ultimately leading to his suicide. The body of the young man was buried in the local area the same afternoon. Taliban local officials in Kunar have not yet commented on the incident or its motives. In recent years, rising unemployment and livelihood challenges have been highlighted as serious issues in many provinces across the country.
