Construction of Ghazni University Medical Faculty Building Resumes

The Press Office of the Ministry of Higher Education announced that the remaining construction work on the Ghazni University Medical Faculty building has restarted with a budget of 19.3 million Afghanis. According to the ministry, the project had previously experienced a halt, but the completion process is now underway again.

Based on the published information, the new building will be constructed over four floors and will include 22 administrative offices, 31 classrooms, two conference halls, and equipped laboratories. These facilities are intended to consolidate the educational and administrative needs of the faculty in one standardized area.

Officials from the Ministry of Higher Education have stated that upon completion, the educational and administrative capacity of the Ghazni University Medical Faculty will increase, providing a better environment for theoretical and practical education, scientific research, and academic activities for both professors and students.

In recent years, the Taliban administration has cited the development of higher education infrastructure as one of its priorities; however, previous delays in some construction projects and widespread restrictions in the education sector, particularly regarding girls’ education, have raised concerns about how all citizens will benefit from these facilities. Along with completing this project, it is expected that budget transparency and equal access to education will also be emphasized.
