Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Claims Attack on US Aircraft Carrier Fueling Platforms in Oman’s Duqm Port

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that the logistical support centers and refueling platforms of US aircraft carriers at Oman’s Duqm Port were targeted in an attack and “smashingly destroyed.” The military body stated that this action was carried out as part of the “third phase of response.”
In a statement released by the IRGC, it was said that the Aerospace Force fighters executed the operation in a “heavy and surprise” manner. The IRGC did not provide further details regarding the extent of possible damage or casualties resulting from the attack.
The statement described the action as a reaction to what it called the “US military aggression.” Additionally, the statement referenced the event using religious language and framed it as a reciprocal response.
Duqm Port, located on the coast of the Arabian Sea within Oman’s territory, is considered one of the region’s strategic ports and has attracted attention from naval forces of various countries in recent years. To date, officials from the United States or Oman have not responded to the claim.
