Qom Hosts Funeral of Martyr Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

The funeral procession of the pure body of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, began this morning, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the city of Qom. After funeral prayers were held at the sacred Jamkaran Mosque, the procession moved from Payambar Azam Boulevard toward the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon her).

The prayer over the pure body of the martyred leader and his martyred family, led by Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, one of the religious authorities, was conducted. This ceremony started at 6 a.m. with a wide turnout of mourning people, religious scholars, religious figures, and a number of national and military officials.

From the earliest hours of the morning, the areas around Jamkaran Mosque and the routes leading to Payambar Azam Boulevard witnessed a massive crowd who had gathered to pay their respects and bid farewell in the ceremony. According to Iranian media, pilgrims from various cities across the country as well as from several other countries have come to Qom to attend this event.

The city of Qom, as one of the most important religious centers in Iran, hosts large religious gatherings every year. Today, the city witnessed one of the most populous funeral ceremonies in recent years, held in an atmosphere of mourning and sorrow.
