Iraqi Prime Minister to Attend Funeral of Iran’s Martyred Leader in Najaf

A senior source has announced that Ali Al-Zaydi, the Prime Minister of Iraq, will attend the funeral ceremony of Iran’s martyred leader, which will be held on Tuesday in the city of Najaf. The ceremony will be attended by senior officials from both countries in Najaf al-Ashraf.

Previously, Youssef Ghanawi, the governor of Najaf al-Ashraf, stated that the body of Iran’s martyred leader will arrive in Najaf on Tuesday along with the President, the Speaker of the Parliament, and his eldest son. According to him, all security, service, and logistical preparations for the ceremony have been completed.

The governor of Najaf explained that the event will be held in two parts. The first part is an official ceremony at Najaf International Airport, with the presence of the heads of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, political leaders, several members of parliament, and official figures.

The second part is a public funeral procession starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday. The procession will begin at the Bridge of Sadr Hospital on Airport Road, pass through the old parts of the city, and conclude at the holy shrine of Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him).

Local officials in Najaf have also announced hosting a delegation composed of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office, the Joint Operations Command, the Popular Mobilization Forces organization, and the Iranian ambassador. According to the governor of Najaf, all details of the ceremony have been reviewed, and the province is fully prepared to hold it.
