US Navy Halts Search for Marine Missing After Helicopter Crash in Arabian Sea

The United States Navy has announced the suspension of search operations for a Marine who went missing following a helicopter crash in the Arabian Sea. The incident occurred several days ago, and despite multiple days of efforts, the missing individual has not been found.

The US Fifth Fleet confirmed in a statement posted on the social media platform X that the search has ended after extensive reviews. The Marine disappeared following an emergency landing of the military helicopter on the water’s surface.

According to the released information, the event took place in the early hours of July 1, Eastern US time. The “MH-60S Seahawk” helicopter, which was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), was forced to make an emergency water landing while flying over the Arabian Sea.

The Fifth Fleet statement noted that there were no signs of hostile action involved in the incident. Of the four crew members, three were rescued, and their health status aboard the ship has been reported as stable. US military officials have said that investigations into the exact cause of the helicopter crash are ongoing.

The Arabian Sea is considered one of the key maritime routes in the region, and the US Navy maintains a regular operational presence in the area.
