Pakistan Releases 147 Afghan Migrants Who Return Home Through Official Borders

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations under the Taliban administration has announced that 147 Afghan migrants have been released from Pakistani prisons and returned to Afghanistan. According to the ministry, these individuals entered the country through official border crossings after completing the necessary procedures.

A statement released today (Thursday) indicated that 125 of the migrants entered Afghanistan via the Torkham border in Nangarhar province, while 22 others crossed through Spin Boldak in Kandahar province.

Among those released were families and individuals who had been held in detention for varying periods due to lacking legal residency documents. The detention of undocumented migrants in Pakistan has recently become a serious challenge for Afghans residing there.

The Ministry of Refugees added that after receiving initial assistance, the returnees were transferred to their main residential areas. No further details about the type of aid or the current situation of these migrants have been provided.
