Taliban Spokesperson Urges Expansion of Media Cooperation to Strengthen Information Flow

Zabiullah Mujahid, the central spokesperson for the Taliban administration, has called on all departmental spokespeople to expand their cooperation with the media and work harder to enhance the information dissemination process. He made this request on Tuesday during a coordination meeting with departmental spokespeople.
The meeting was held at the Information and Media Center, and according to Mujahid, its goal was to foster greater coordination among different sectors of information dissemination. He described the role of spokespersons in consolidating and managing the flow of information as “important and influential” and emphasized the continuation of collaborative efforts.
The central Taliban spokesperson also urged information officials to engage in comprehensive cooperation to “enrich” the administration’s programs through progress reflected in the press and the official website. He highlighted the significance of the media in raising public awareness and reflecting realities.
However, while the Taliban administration stresses strengthening the information dissemination process, journalists and media activists in Afghanistan have repeatedly complained over recent years about restrictions, pressures, and the lack of free access to information. Experts believe that public trust is strengthened only when access to information is provided transparently and without limitations for the media.
