Construction of Deh-e-Ziarat Bridge in Laghman Reaches 50% Completion

The Public Works Department under the Taliban administration has announced that the construction of the Deh-e-Ziarat Bridge in Mehtarlam city, the capital of Laghman province, has reached 50 percent physical progress. This project is being funded by the Ministry of Public Works with a budget of 52.8 million Afghanis.
According to officials, the bridge spans 100 meters in length and 9 meters in width. The contract for its construction has been signed between the Ministry of Public Works and a construction company. Under the terms of the contract, the bridge is to be completed within one year and then put into operation.
The Deh-e-Ziarat Bridge is considered a major infrastructure project in Laghman province. Once completed, a significant section of Mehtarlam city’s ring road will be finished.
Furthermore, upon operation, the bridge will connect the Omarzai area to the provincial capital and link the terminals on the routes to Laghman, Kabul, and Jalalabad with Mehtarlam city. This development is expected to facilitate citizens’ travel and strengthen the province’s transportation network.
