TAPI Pipeline Construction Advances 90 Kilometers in Herat

Local officials in Herat province report that the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline has reached over 90 kilometers of excavation in the region. They state that the practical work on the project has accelerated in recent months, with a significant portion of the designated route completed.
According to the provided information, approximately 125 kilometers of the pipeline route have been cleared so far, preparing the ground for continued technical work. Officials express hope that TAPI gas will reach the Herat industrial town within the next six months.
The total length of the pipeline from the Turkmenistan border to the city of Herat is reported to be 153 kilometers. The TAPI project, which transports Turkmenistan gas through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India, is considered one of the major regional energy initiatives, with its completion expected to impact industrial activities in western Afghanistan.
However, some economic experts emphasize that accelerating and ensuring transparency in the execution of such large infrastructure projects is crucial to gaining investor confidence and enabling the local population to genuinely benefit from them.
