Taliban Authorities Complete Survey for Large Grand Mosque in Kabul’s Kote Sangi

The Urban Development and Housing Department of the Taliban administration has announced the completion of the topographic survey for the construction of a large grand mosque in the Maiwand Square (Kote Sangi) area of Kabul city.
According to information released by this department, the mosque is designed to accommodate between 18,000 and 20,000 worshippers. The total land area allocated for the project has been set at approximately 55,398 square meters.
Kote Sangi is one of the densely populated areas in western Kabul, which has seen rapid urban expansion in recent years. Building a large grand mosque in this area could meet some of the religious needs of its residents.
However, details regarding the budget, construction start date, and funding sources for this project have not yet been provided by the Taliban administration. It is expected that these details will be shared with the public for greater transparency.
