Unprecedented Decline in American Trust in Federal Government, Survey Shows

A recent survey in the United States reveals that public trust in the federal government has fallen to its lowest level in over twenty years. According to a Fox News poll, only 25 percent of registered voters said they generally trust the government, while 74 percent expressed distrust.
This figure marks a significant decrease compared to two previous surveys. One was conducted in the summer before the last six months of Joe Biden’s administration, and the other in the summer following the first six months of Donald Trump’s second presidential term, both showing a trust level of 32 percent.
The survey indicates that distrust is highest among Democratic supporters, with 83 percent currently stating they do not trust the federal government. This number was 73 percent last year.
Among Republicans, approximately 67 percent have expressed distrust toward the Trump administration. Additionally, 80 percent of independent voters said they do not trust the government.
According to The Hill newspaper, these results could serve as a warning signal for the Trump administration ahead of the November midterm elections. Analysts suggest that recent economic challenges, including the effects of regional tensions and conflicts, have contributed to the decline in the administration’s popularity.
