Iceland Donates 50 Million Krona to Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that Iceland has contributed 50 million Icelandic Krona, equivalent to 402,000 US dollars, to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund. According to OCHA, this financial aid will enable partner humanitarian organizations to deliver urgent assistance to families affected by the ongoing crises in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund is one of the UN’s financial mechanisms designed to provide rapid response to urgent needs across multiple sectors, including shelter, food, health, and essential services in vulnerable areas. In recent years, Afghanistan has faced consecutive economic and humanitarian crises, and international aid remains a crucial source of support for vulnerable families in several provinces of the country.
