Iran Introduces Unique Identification Code for Children Without Official Documents

A Tehran-based migrant journalist has reported the launch of a new initiative in Iran that aims to identify children without official identification documents whose parents hold valid residency papers. Under this program, a ‘unique code’ will be issued to such children. This measure is part of ongoing efforts to organize and register migrant information in Iran.

According to Seyed Ali Hosseini, within the framework of this plan, if one parent holds a valid Amayesh card and the other parent possesses a valid passport—whether a residence permit, family passport, or status conversion document with a valid visa—their undocumented children will be identifiable.

He emphasized that this program is essentially a continuation of last year’s “Card and Passport Integration Plan.” He noted that some families had failed to complete previous procedures due to transfers or inability to follow up administratively.

Based on the information provided, families whose children were not identified in earlier stages now have the opportunity to apply for the unique identification code. Further details regarding registration procedures and deadlines have not yet been officially announced.
