Taliban Administration Calls Kazakhstan Meeting with Russia ‘Beneficial’

Abdullatif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy in the Taliban administration, described the joint Afghanistan-Russia meeting in the city of Kazan as “beneficial,” stating that important discussions took place regarding cooperation in the fields of mines, oil and gas, roads, railways, trade, and energy.
According to him, senior officials from both sides emphasized the expansion of economic relations and strengthening bilateral cooperation. Kazan is one of Russia’s key cities for hosting economic and regional meetings and has recently hosted gatherings related to Afghanistan as well.
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education announced that the acting head of the ministry, during meetings with officials from Russia and Kyrgyzstan, called for the development of regional relations, especially in scientific and educational fields.
Despite these announcements, the Taliban administration has not yet provided specific details on potential agreements, timelines for project implementation, or the scale of financial commitments; an issue that remains a major challenge in assessing the transparency and execution of the administration’s economic understandings.
