Ghazni Municipality Implements 22 Development Projects Worth 619 Million Afghanis

The Ghazni Municipality reports having implemented 22 development, construction, and service projects valued at a total of 619 million Afghanis across various districts of the province during the solar year 1405.
Abu Muhammad Thabit, the mayor of Ghazni, stated that these projects include the development of the Kabul-Kandahar highway within Ghazni city, asphalt paving of urban roads, construction of overpasses and small bridges, urban order initiatives, and the creation of parks and green spaces.
According to municipal officials, the goal of these projects is to improve transportation conditions, reduce urban congestion, and provide better service facilities for the city’s residents. The Kabul-Kandahar highway is considered one of the country’s major transit routes, playing a key role in travel between the capital and southern Afghanistan.
However, some Ghazni residents have consistently emphasized that the implementation of urban projects should be accompanied by greater transparency in budget spending and continuous oversight to ensure the quality of work and the sustainability of services. To date, the Taliban administration has not published further details regarding the monitoring and evaluation mechanisms of these projects.
Ghazni is one of the important provinces in the southeast of the country that has faced security challenges and a lack of urban infrastructure in recent years. Implementing infrastructure projects remains a primary demand of its residents.
