Flash Floods in Nangarhar Leave 2,000 Families Affected

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reported that sudden flash floods caused by heavy rains in Nangarhar province have affected approximately 2,000 families. According to the organization, this natural event has led to the destruction of homes, loss of livelihoods, and damage to residents’ assets.
According to released information, IOM teams have begun supporting the affected families by providing relief items. These aids include essential basic supplies to address the immediate needs of the families.
The International Organization for Migration added that the assessment of the damaged areas is ongoing to more accurately determine the extent of needs. The organization emphasized that the distribution of humanitarian assistance will continue according to the findings of these evaluations.
Nangarhar province is among the regions that have frequently experienced natural disasters, especially seasonal floods, in recent years, which have consistently caused heavy financial losses to its residents.
