Tel Aviv Expresses Serious Concerns Over Potential US-Iran Agreement

A senior Israeli official has stated that Tel Aviv harbors serious concerns regarding any potential agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as such a deal might leave Iran’s missile capabilities intact.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported early Thursday, citing the unnamed official, that the proposed agreement between Washington and Tehran likely would not impose limitations on Iran’s missile arsenal. According to this source, this could impact the security balance in the region.
The Israeli official also claimed that the potential deal would restrict Iran’s uranium enrichment for only 15 years—a measure that Tel Aviv considers insufficient.
He further noted that another possible consequence of the agreement could be a restriction on the Israeli military’s freedom of action in Lebanon. Over recent years, Israel has carried out multiple attacks in Lebanese and Syrian territories, a matter that has consistently been a source of regional tension.
Meanwhile, Fox News reported Wednesday evening that U.S. President Donald Trump has set a one-week timeline to reach an agreement with Iran. This report has yet to be officially confirmed by American or Iranian officials.
