Netanyahu Corruption Trial Postponed Again Due to Security Concerns

Israeli media have reported that the hearing for corruption cases against Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, scheduled for Monday, has been postponed again due to “security considerations.” The i24 news agency, citing a court statement, announced that this session will not be held for the time being.

According to reports, no further details about the specific reasons for this decision have been released. This marks the multiple delays in the judicial process concerning Netanyahu’s cases.

The Israeli Prime Minister is facing charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in three separate cases; indictments for these cases were filed in 2019. The legal proceedings have faced repeated interruptions over the past years.

Some Israeli analysts believe that security developments and regional tensions, including military clashes in Gaza since October 2023 and heightened tensions with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran, have influenced the handling of these cases. Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s domestic critics stress that ongoing delays could undermine transparency and accountability within Israel’s political system.

Separately, U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier once again urged Israeli President Isaac Herzog to grant Netanyahu a pardon, a request that received widespread media attention.
