Kandahar Approaches Self-Sufficiency in Edible Oil Production

Officials from the Kandahar Chamber of Industry and Mines have announced that the annual production of edible oil in the province has reached approximately 50,000 tons. With 24 operational factories, Kandahar is nearing self-sufficiency in this sector.
According to these officials, the active factories involved in edible oil production have been able to meet the demands of a large portion of the domestic market, thereby reducing dependency on imports. They emphasized that the expansion of industrial activities in the province has played a significant role in strengthening domestic production.
The chamber officials also added that, besides facilitating production, these factories have provided employment opportunities for hundreds of people. They believe the growth of manufacturing industries can positively impact the economic conditions of families and contribute to the sustainable development of Kandahar’s industrial zones.
Kandahar is one of the important provinces in the south of the country, which in recent years has witnessed increased investment in small and medium-sized industries.
