Heavy Armed Clashes Erupt in Suburbs of Suwayda, Syria

Media reports indicate heavy armed clashes have broken out in the western suburbs of Suwayda province in southern Syria. Eyewitnesses say the fighting is between internal security forces affiliated with the Jolani regime and local armed groups, involving the use of heavy weapons and mortars.

Al-Mayadeen news agency, citing field sources, reported that the clashes have spanned multiple fronts. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the parties exchanged fire along the Wilga, Mansoura axes, and surrounding villages near the city of Suwayda.

According to these reports, the intensity of the fighting was such that explosions were heard in some adjacent areas. So far, no official reports have been released regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.

Suwayda, located in southern Syria, has experienced security instability since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and the rise of the Jolani regime. Military clashes continue in various regions across Syria, with the security situation reported as fragile in several areas.
