Taliban Acting Industry Minister Holds Talks with Foreign Officials in Oman

Nuruddin Azizi, the acting Minister of Industry and Trade of the Taliban administration, held talks with several foreign officials on the sidelines of the 11th Congress of the World Free Zones Organization in Oman.
According to the administration’s press release, Mr. Azizi met with the representative of the Chinese Communist Party, the head of Ghana’s free zone, Uganda’s Minister of Trade, Iran’s Vice President and head of its free zones, the Executive Director of the World Free Zones Organization, and several Omani officials.
The Taliban acting minister’s visit and meetings aim to attract investment and expand economic cooperation. However, the Taliban administration has so far failed to gain the trust of the international community and foreign investors due to lack of international legitimacy and extensive restrictions.
Economic experts emphasize that without establishing political stability, respecting human rights, and engaging positively with the world, the Taliban administration’s efforts to attract investment will not yield tangible results.
