Former Taliban Envoy Strongly Condemns Airstrikes in Kabul, Kandahar, and Khost

Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, former Taliban envoy to Pakistan, vehemently condemned last night’s airstrikes in Kabul, Kandahar, and Khost, describing them as the cause of civilian casualties. In a message posted on his X page, he stated that these attacks led to the “martyrdom and injury of innocent civilians” and labeled the actions as “great injustice, crime, and cowardly acts.” According to him, these events demonstrate that what he called the “puppet regime” has failed to achieve its objectives. Zaeef further added that such attacks represent clear hostility towards the people of Afghanistan. He did not provide additional details regarding the nature of the attacks or the exact number of casualties. These remarks come amid ongoing concerns about the protection of civilians and adherence to international humanitarian law during airstrikes in residential areas, which emphasize safeguarding non-combatants in any conflict.
