Iran’s Supreme Leader Calls Trump ‘True Symbol of Terrorism’

Iran’s Supreme Leader has rejected recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Tehran’s nuclear program, calling them an example of ‘bullying and unwarranted interference.’
Speaking at a meeting with numerous Iranian medalists in science and sports, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei criticized Washington’s stance and responded to claims by American officials that they had dismantled Iran’s nuclear capabilities. He dismissed such assertions as ‘baseless and false,’ questioning U.S. authority on the matter: “Who are you to decide whether or not other countries can have a nuclear industry?”
Khamenei insisted that access to nuclear energy is Iran’s legitimate right and called the United States’ involvement in the issue ‘unjust and oppressive.’
He also labeled the United States as the ‘true symbol of terrorism’ and rejected Trump’s expressions of support for the Iranian people as ‘complete lies.’ The Supreme Leader stated that U.S. sanctions, particularly secondary sanctions, directly target ordinary Iranians, proving that American officials are not friends of the Iranian people, but their enemies.
Khamenei further addressed Trump’s claim that he is ready to negotiate with Tehran. He argued that any deal reached under coercion, with predetermined outcomes, cannot be considered a genuine negotiation but rather an imposition. He stressed that the Iranian nation would never accept such an imposition.
The remarks come amid wider concerns about authoritarian approaches to media freedoms and civil liberties, notably in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, where analysts have drawn parallels with the U.S. approach. Regional powers’ responses to these developments may influence future political dynamics in the region.
