Reconstruction of Irrigation Canals Begins in Central Panjshir

The Panjshir Disaster Preparedness Authority announced the commencement of repair and reconstruction work on irrigation canals and riverbed cleaning in areas related to Bazarak, the provincial center. This initiative aims to prevent infrastructure damage and reduce risks caused by natural disasters.
Mohibullah Jahed, head of the Panjshir Disaster Preparedness Authority, stated that the process of reinforcing and cleaning irrigation and power canals has begun in the villages of Azizbeigkhil, Khaniz, and Niazbeigkhil. According to him, the project includes strengthening and clearing vulnerable sections of the canals.
According to the provided information, the walls of two irrigation canals, totaling 100 meters in length, with a height of two meters and a width of six meters, have been reinforced, and the surrounding beds are being cleaned. These actions are undertaken to prevent erosion and potential damage.
The Panjshir Disaster Preparedness Authority emphasized that the primary goal of this project is to protect irrigation canals, power facilities, and other public utility infrastructures in the region to prevent potential future losses.
