Construction Begins on $2.5 Million Recreational and Commercial Complex in Ghazni’s Rozah-Kotal

The Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock of Ghazni has announced the commencement of construction on a recreational and commercial complex with an investment of approximately $2.5 million in the Rozah-Kotal area, located at the center of the province. This project is being implemented on ten jeribs of government land by a private investor.
Mawlawi Mohammad Ismail Shakib, head of Ghazni’s Agriculture Department, stated that the complex will include a park, hotel, supermarkets, and several other service centers to provide residents of Ghazni city with suitable places for recreation and relaxation. According to him, this project has the potential to transform the appearance of one of the city’s most frequented recreational areas.
The department head added that efforts are underway to lease more government land to the private sector to encourage investment and create job opportunities. However, given that the Taliban administration controls government land, some citizens consistently emphasize the need for transparency in the land allocation process and oversight of contracts.
Sayed Akbar, the investor in this project, said that in addition to commercial aims, creating a suitable recreational space for the people and providing employment opportunities for local residents are fundamental goals of this investment. He added that construction is expected to be completed in approximately one and a half years.
Rozah-Kotal is among the natural and attractive areas of Ghazni city, hosting thousands of visitors weekly; however, the lack of standard parks, restaurants, and other service facilities has been a major challenge for the area. Officials have expressed hope that with the implementation of this project, domestic tourism growth and small economic activities in the region will be further encouraged.
