Hundreds of Residents and Livestock Rescued from Floods in Babaji, Helmand

Following heavy rains last night and subsequent flash floods in the Lomanada area of Babaji district, Helmand province, dozens of local residents along with hundreds of livestock were rescued from danger.
According to information provided by the Taliban-run Ministry of Defense, these individuals had been trapped amid the floods and were unable to exit the area under normal circumstances. The engineering battalion of the 215 Azm Army Corps conducted rescue operations, transferring them to safe locations.
The ministry stated that the personnel made efforts to reach the site as quickly as possible to prevent loss of life and further damage.
Helmand province is among the regions that frequently experience sudden floods during the rainy season—an event caused by insufficient water management infrastructure that poses serious risks to residents of vulnerable districts.
