Construction of Three Water Supply Networks Begins in Ghazni Province

Local officials in Ghazni province have announced the commencement of construction for three water supply networks in the districts of Zenkhan, Abband, and Wali Mohammad Shaheed. These projects are being implemented with a total budget of nearly 20 million Afghanis.
Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Amini, head of Ghazni’s Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development under the Taliban administration, stated that these networks are being carried out in cooperation with the Dakar Institute and financially supported by the World Bank. According to him, the main goal of these projects is to provide residents of the mentioned areas with access to safe drinking water.
Based on the statements of this local official, upon completion of these networks, hundreds of families will gain access to clean water—a persistent challenge in many rural areas of Ghazni.
Amini also added that during project implementation, employment opportunities will be created for hundreds of people, and after the networks are operational, the shortage of drinking water in these districts will be significantly reduced.
