Taliban Administration Declares Importing Low-Quality Fuel a Violation

The Taliban administration has announced that any imports of fuel and gas that do not meet the established standards will be considered violations, and those responsible will be referred to relevant authorities.
In a statement issued by the commission assigned to prevent the import of low-quality fuel and gas, it was emphasized that all importing companies are obligated to bring petroleum products into the country solely based on the predetermined rules and criteria.
According to the announcement, individuals and companies that import fuel contrary to these standards will face legal actions, and their cases will be handed over to competent authorities.
Fuel tanks and pump stations have also been instructed to purchase fuel exclusively from companies holding official licenses and to keep purchase documents on hand.
This warning comes amid widespread complaints in recent months about the use of low-quality fuel, increased air pollution, and vehicle damage in various cities across the country. Critics say the lack of continuous and transparent oversight by the Taliban administration has paved the way for the inflow of low-quality fuel into the markets, and that merely issuing warnings without practical enforcement mechanisms cannot address the concerns of residents.
