Taliban Ministry Warns of Heavy Snowfall and Flash Floods in 20 Afghan Provinces

The Ministry of Transport and Aviation under the Taliban administration has announced that tomorrow there is a possibility of relatively heavy snowfall, rain, thunderstorms, and flash floods in 20 provinces across Afghanistan. This warning includes key provinces and transportation routes, especially the Salang Pass.
According to information published on the ministry’s X (formerly Twitter) page, the provinces expected to be affected include Kabul, Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Balkh, Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, Samangan, Bamyan, Daikundi, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Parwan, Kapisa, Baghlan, Panjshir, Laghman, Nuristan, and Kunar.
The Ministry of Transport and Aviation predicts rainfall amounts ranging from 10 to 30 millimeters and snowfall ranging from 10 to 40 millimeters across various areas. These conditions may cause difficulties for travel on certain routes.
The ministry also warned that in the central and southeastern provinces, including the Salang Pass, there is a possibility of strong winds, with speeds reaching 50 to 75 kilometers per hour in some locations. Experts consistently emphasize that the lack of effective crisis management and local information dissemination can exacerbate the impact of such natural events on residents.
