Taliban’s Ministry of Information Launches ‘Tsark’ Magazine to Promote Ideology

The Jihadi Values Directorate, affiliated with the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture, has published a new issue of a magazine called “Tsark.” This publication, apparently aimed at promoting the Taliban’s ideology, contains various content, the details of which have not been released by official sources.

According to officials from this directorate, other magazines titled “Shohamat,” “Morchel,” and “Haqiqat” are also planned to be regularly printed and distributed in the future. This initiative is part of the Taliban’s broader efforts to bolster their propaganda project and promote their viewpoints among the people of Afghanistan.

The Taliban’s administration has increased the production and printing of such publications while many independent media outlets in Afghanistan have either been closed or subjected to severe censorship since the fall of the previous government. Critics argue that these actions by the Taliban not only constitute a blatant violation of freedom of expression but also exacerbate the already restrictive media environment in the country.

The release of propaganda magazines under the name “Jihadi” clearly exemplifies the instrumental use of media to reinforce the Taliban’s ideological narratives. Meanwhile, many Afghan journalists are either living in exile or have been barred from media activities.
