Seventh Moscow Format Meeting Ends with Declaration Supporting Independent and Secure Afghanistan

The seventh round of the Moscow Format meeting on the situation in Afghanistan concluded with participants expressing support for the emergence of an independent, united, and secure Afghanistan.
According to the statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the participants emphasized their support for the establishment of an Afghanistan free from terrorism and drug trafficking. They also expressed readiness to assist in strengthening regional security.
The statement further noted that supporting counter-terrorism cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels remains among the shared concerns of these countries.
Representatives from Afghanistan, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan attended the meeting. These countries declared their opposition to the creation of military infrastructures by governments on Afghan territory or in neighboring countries.
The declaration also mentioned that participants are prepared to continue humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan. This position comes amid the Taliban administration facing a legitimacy crisis, international pressure, and a difficult humanitarian situation within the country.
Although some governments are striving to stabilize Afghanistan through regional solutions, achieving sustainable peace and balanced development remains under serious doubt as long as power is held by an administration lacking electoral legitimacy.
