Four Suspects Arrested for Kidnapping in Zormat, Paktia

According to the spokesperson of Paktia Police Command, Taliban-led police forces have arrested a four-member group accused of kidnapping and theft during a special operation in the Zormat district of this province.

Munib Zadran, the spokesperson for Paktia Police Command, stated that these individuals had stolen a significant amount of cash from a local money changer during a kidnapping incident one day prior to their arrest.

According to the information provided, the stolen money included two and a half million Afghanis, fifteen thousand US dollars, four and a half million Pakistani rupees, and six thousand Saudi riyals.

The police also reported that the money changer was injured in one leg during a shooting by the armed assailants, but his current health condition is reported to be satisfactory. This incident once again highlights concerns over the security of money changers and local economic activists in various parts of the country.
