Thousands of Vulnerable Afghan Families Receive Emergency Aid Amid Natural Disasters

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that in 2025, it distributed emergency aid to 27,679 families affected by natural disasters across Afghanistan. Many of these families have directly faced the consequences of floods, cold weather, and other natural calamities.
According to the information provided, among the recipient families, 6,901 vulnerable households received special winter aid packages. This support is considered vital for survival in the cold and deprived regions of the country.
Afghanistan experiences widespread natural disasters every year; these events, according to international organizations, have intensified and increased in frequency due to climate change, threatening the lives of millions of residents.
While international aid organizations strive to fill immediate gaps, critics argue that the lack of effective planning and transparent accountability by the Taliban administration has seriously challenged the country’s capacity to sustainably manage crises and reduce the vulnerability of local communities.
