Kabul and Tehran Discuss Expanding Investment in Afghanistan’s Mining Sector

The acting Iranian ambassador to Kabul stated that Iranian companies are interested in investing in Afghanistan’s iron and oil mining sectors, a topic discussed during his meeting with the acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the meeting took place on Saturday. Both parties talked about expanding economic cooperation, strengthening bilateral relations, and developing investments in various sectors, especially mining.

Ali Reza Beigdeli, in this meeting, referred to the overall security situation and the presence of rich mineral reserves in Afghanistan. He described these conditions as a suitable opportunity to increase economic cooperation between the two countries and spoke about the interest of Iranian companies in participating in mining projects.

In response, Hedayatullah Badri, the acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum under the Taliban administration, welcomed this interest and emphasized that his ministry would provide the necessary support and coordination to facilitate investment processes and cooperation.
