Taliban Announces Formation of Rapid Border Response Force

The Taliban administration has announced the formation of a special rapid response unit comprising around 1,000 personnel aimed at strengthening border security and supporting defensive lines. According to officials, the unit will be deployed in sensitive border areas to provide immediate responses to violations.
The newly established force is reportedly equipped with advanced weaponry and technology, including specialized systems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Officials say the goal of this equipment is to enhance operational capability and response speed.
The Taliban administration stressed that the creation of this unit is a practical step toward bolstering border control and protecting national territory. However, observers caution that a military-focused approach, without transparency, accountability, and regional cooperation, is unlikely to address border security concerns comprehensively. They emphasize the need for more sustainable and responsible strategies.
