Afghanistan Trust Fund Calls for Global Solidarity Amid Growing Challenges

The Afghanistan Trust Fund has marked International Human Solidarity Day by emphasizing that the growth and resilience of communities depend on people-centered development, environmental protection, human rights, and global cooperation.
In a statement released on the occasion, the Fund stressed that solidarity is not merely a slogan, but calls for tangible actions to protect human dignity, reduce poverty, and advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—goals that face serious challenges in many countries, including Afghanistan.
Highlighting the need for coordinated and collective work, the Afghanistan Trust Fund urged international organizations, development partners, and humanitarian agencies to continue their support for the Afghan people through a unified approach.
The call for global solidarity comes amid growing concern over the restrictive policies and governance of the Taliban, which have made it increasingly difficult for many Afghans to access basic rights, livelihood opportunities, and essential services—underscoring the urgent need for a coordinated global response.
