U.S. Army Holds Drill on Digging Temporary Graves in Wartime

According to Defense News, the U.S. Army has held a specialised drill to improve its forces’ ability to cope with large-scale military conflicts. The operation focused on speeding up the burial of bodies while preserving the ability to accurately identify the dead.
The drill was held in North Carolina with the participation of military engineers, rescue personnel and related specialists. Military forces used heavy equipment such as bulldozers to accelerate the process of creating temporary burial sites, in order to test the efficiency of the operation in emergency conditions.
According to the U.S. Army, the next phase of these exercises is scheduled to be held in the spring of 2027. The move underscores the U.S. Army’s emphasis on preparing to manage the wide-ranging human consequences of the prospect of major wars.
