Taliban Official Accuses Pakistan of Seeking to Destabilise Afghanistan

Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi, deputy minister for publications at the Taliban-run Ministry of Information and Culture, has accused Pakistan of opposing Afghanistan’s “security and progress” and said Islamabad is seeking to destabilise the region.
He made the remarks at a seminar in eastern Nangarhar province, adding that Pakistan, in his words, is the “heir of British colonialism” and is trying to destabilise the situation in the region.
According to Mohajer Farahi, the aim of British colonial policies was to create insecurity and instability in the region, and Pakistan is following the same path in order to disrupt regional security.
The remarks come as Afghanistan-Pakistan relations in recent years have repeatedly been marked by political and security tensions, with both sides at various times making claims and accusations against each other.
