Three Non-Standard Cargo Shipments Returned from Farah Port

The Standards and Quality Authority has announced that three imported cargo shipments, including 66.346 tonnes of tiles and 770 kilograms of holders and electrical switches, have been returned from Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port for failing to meet the set standards.

In a statement issued today, Saturday, the authority said the goods were placed under inspection and technical testing at Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port upon entering the country. According to the authority, the test results showed that the shipments were not compatible with domestic standards and did not have the required quality.

The statement said that after the inspections were completed, the goods were prevented from entering the market and the shipments were sent back to their country of origin.

The Standards and Quality Authority added that the process of inspecting and controlling the quality of imported goods at the country’s ports continues with the aim of preventing the entry of non-standard products and protecting consumers’ rights.

Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port in Farah province is considered one of the important trade crossings in western Afghanistan, and part of the imported goods enter the country through this route.
