More Than 450 Needy Families Receive Aid in Balkh and Parwan

More than 450 needy families in Afghanistan’s Balkh and Parwan provinces have received food and cash assistance.
According to local officials, food items were distributed in Balkh province to 314 needy families and beggars who had earlier been identified as eligible by a designated committee. The aid included flour, rice, oil, beans, tea, sugar and some other essential items.
At the same time in Parwan province, the counter-narcotics police paid 4,000 afghanis in cash to each of 150 eligible families.
The assistance was distributed by the counter-narcotics departments of the Balkh and Parwan police commands. Balkh is located in northern Afghanistan and Parwan in the central part of the country.
