Taliban’s National Procurement Department Opens Bids for Nazian Substation Project

The National Procurement Department under the Taliban administration has opened bids for the survey, design, procurement, installation, testing, and operation of the Nazian substation project with a capacity of 2×25 MVA and a voltage of 220/20 kV.
According to the department, this project also includes the development of the 220 kV transmission line for the Hisar Shahi substation in Nangarhar province. The bid opening process took place today, August 10, 2026, with the presence of representatives from the Barqshna Company and members of the volunteer evaluation committee.
The implementation of this project is raised at a time when providing stable electricity is one of the fundamental needs of the residents of Nangarhar and other provinces. The shortage of electrical energy remains one of the serious challenges in the country’s infrastructure sector.
Barqshna Company is responsible for the management and distribution of electricity in Afghanistan, and many electricity infrastructure projects are implemented through this company following procurement procedures.
