Over 250,000 Tourists Visit Panjshir Province in First Three Months of the Year

Local officials in Panjshir province report that more than 250,000 domestic tourists and 120 foreign tourists visited the region during the first three months of the current solar year. According to the officials, the provision of security and improvements to transportation routes to certain areas have facilitated travel for tourists to Panjshir’s natural attractions. The local administration has not provided further details regarding the revenue generated or the economic impact of these visits. During this period, tourists explored valleys, waterfalls, and remote areas in the province, including Khwak and Marghdara, places that have been well-known recreational destinations in recent years. The Panjshir local administration also announced plans to enhance tourism capacity, including constructing a hotel specifically for tourists and implementing other facilities. These initiatives come amid ongoing serious challenges in developing basic infrastructure and public services across many provinces in the country.
