China Warns Humanitarian Aid and Terrorism Remain Serious Challenges in Afghanistan
China’s representative to the United Nations has cautioned that despite what is described as ‘relative stability’ in Afghanistan, challenges related to humanitarian aid and counterterrorism remain serious and complex.
Fu Cong, speaking at a UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, said the current situation in the country requires continuous attention from the international community, noting that problems in the humanitarian and security sectors persist.
He emphasized that current Afghan authorities and the global community must cooperate based on mutual trust and work together toward improving the livelihoods of the people and achieving sustainable stability.
The Security Council meeting took place against the backdrop of Afghanistan facing a widespread humanitarian crisis and security concerns caused by the activities of armed groups in recent years.
