North Korea’s Foreign Minister Arrives in Moscow for Official Visit

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Choe Son-hui, North Korea’s Foreign Minister, will arrive in Moscow today, Saturday, for an official visit. This trip is made at the invitation of Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister.
According to a statement released by the TASS news agency, no further details have been provided regarding the agenda of meetings or the main topics of discussion between the two sides. However, this visit is seen within the framework of the expanding relations between Moscow and Pyongyang.
Since June 2024, following the signing of the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” treaty between the leaders of the two countries, Russia and North Korea have been working on strengthening their bilateral cooperation. This agreement is considered a framework for developing political relations and other areas of cooperation between the two nations.
