Cash Aid Distributed to 160 Needy Families in Samangan

Officials at the Samangan Police Command announced that the personnel of the province’s Anti-Narcotics Department have distributed cash assistance to 160 needy families and families who had previously resorted to begging. According to local sources, these families had been identified in advance by a designated committee and registered as eligible recipients of aid. The process of identifying and verifying the needy individuals was conducted by this same committee. Samangan is one of the northern provinces of the country, where many residents face economic difficulties and unemployment. The rise in poverty in recent years has forced some families to turn to begging in order to meet basic living needs. While the distribution of cash aid can temporarily address some urgent needs of families, social experts stress that addressing poverty fundamentally requires creating job opportunities and sustainable support programs as more effective solutions to prevent the spread of begging in different areas of the country.
